Oh man, Herman W. ("Duke") has passed on. What sad news to this dedicated Five-O fan. Duke is such a soft-spoken character, full of integrity. It's pretty clear that's the way Mr. Wedemeyer was too. There's that expression, "the banality of evil." Well, the opposite might be, "the simplicity of goodness." That was Duke in a nutshell. Gives me something to bear in mind -- and isn't the goal of acting anyway? Aloha, Duke. And Mahalo.

Right now, Jack Lord is still alive on film, since it's been one year after his passing. Now, he is joined with two others, the governor (Richard Denning) and Duke. Most of the Five-O cast is aging and in fair health, but our memories wouldn't fade. It has been another tragic loss with Herman Wedemeyer's passing on January 25, 1999, and now, there are three that are immortalized on screen. May their souls rest in peace, and there is never a goodbye in Hawaii, always Aloha.

l was very saddened at the passing of Steve Mcgarrett but it's kind of ok because the series is running at the moment on British tv. I feel sorry for his family and everyone he left behind. He will be missed.

I liked Hawaii five-O very much. I just subsribed to Columbia House for the five-O Collectors Edition. I recieved the Pilot movie "Cacoon" on Thursday and watched it right away. It has been along time sinse I last saw "Cacoon". I was very impressed with the quality and color, and that it's comlete uncut without commercails. You could not get this quality and comlete movie or episode by taping from TV. From what I have seen so far. It's worth it for true Hawaii Five-O fans. So far Columbia House offer's 10 volumes including "Cacoon" for $3.99 plus shipping & handling. After the first tape,Each volume with two one hour uncut episode's as they originally aired for $19,99 each and they will be shipped about once a month. I will keep all Five-O fans updated, as I receive more tapes, regarding theier quality. I hope that Columbia House will eventually release the entire 12 year series on tape,by releasing a season a year? To Al Santos who worked on the Hawaii Five-O set for the entire series, and played the Jewail Thief in the episode "Blue Skys" know if that episode will include in the first 10 volumes offered by Columbia House? Tell Zulu and all the cast that I have enjoyed Five-O sinse it started on my 16th Birthday. Later Vern

My name is Al Santos and I worked for 5-0 from the beginning of the series through the end. I worked as a set dresser and props and enjoyed working the show. One of the episodes number 8 "No Blue Skies" I appeared as a jewel thief and also enjoyed that. Talked to Zulu today. Would like to get in touch with Kam Fong who played Chin Ho on the show. Hope that I can see him again some time in the future.

Been offline a while; sure missed this site and the newsgroup. Thrilled that cable here in our new area has Five-O (I think) every weekday night -- and not even cut up! (Phoenix, AZ station.) Recently got "Nine Dragons" (Ep. #192)and agree with Mike's generally positive evaluation. Great stuff, very 70s! So, did they really go to HK to film that? I thought it was filmed 100% in Hawaii with just stock footage of non-Hawaiian locations (e.g. the Pentagon). But rereading page one of this site, Mike says, "with few exceptions, it was filmed entirely on location in Hawaii." Gee, so they really went to HK for that. I wonder if Messrs. Fong and MacArthur went out and partied after shooting (Jack Lord surely didn't).

I've enjoyed reminiscing very much. I enjoyed the show as a teenager in the 70s, so much so that I filmed a spoof "Washington 5-0" (it should have been 4-whatever, but I didn't think about the #'s). A relatively new local station started carrying H 5-0, once a day, then twice a day (different episodes), now back to once a day. Now I can follow along with the shows. I've noticed certain actors repeat, e.g. the late Bert Convy. I didn't see one, but an alphabetical list of guest stars with episodes listed after their names?

I'm looking for the actor, James or Jim McInerney. An Irish fellow from Seattle who may have played a "doctor" or some recurring character. He lived between the islands and Seattle and also starred occasionally on Magnum PI. Any info? Thanks!

For so many years I thought I was the only person in the world that love Hawaii Five-O!!! Needless to say, I was thrilled to see all the sites that were available to check out. I'm making my 12th trip to Hawaii next week. I remember being at Duke's back in 1967 when Don Ho introduced some V.I.P.'s in the audience....they were in town to work on the production of a new show that was to be based in Hawaii.....the rest is history!!

To the person who was looking for proof of Jack Lord's death: go to www.ancestry.com Enter John Ryan Hawaii in the database search (Anyone who was a true 5-0 fan knows that this is his real name) It's there and the date is correct in the Social Security Death Index. There's your proof.

Webmaster - Sorry for the multiple posts, please delete my last two. I made a mistake and entered the wrong Web address for The Fox Family Channel. Sorry. As you may know, the Fox Family Channel has chose not to include Hawaii Five-O in their program schedual. For those wishing to see the show once again added to their line up, send an email to them expressing your wishes at http://www.foxfamilychannel.com/ I only learned the Family Channel was showing H50 after they already stopped showing it. I haven't seen an episode in my area in over 10 years. Thanks, Dave McIntosh firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi there, Great site - so glad there are places where we can go to look back and remember. I was 11 yrs. old when H5O first debuted. I remember like it was happening now - how I stood in the middle of the living room and danced all through the opening of the H5) theme song AND then to see Jack Lord's handsome face was almost toooo much!!! I sent a letter away to his fan club and was rewarded with a 5"x7" AUTOGRAPHED black & white photo !!!! I was in heaven. Not only that, but I had the 45 rpm record I had bought. I loved the theme song - it was soooo cool, I loved the star - he was soooo cool and I loved everything about the show. Yes, I also believe the show was a launching pad for showa such as Miami Vice......come on, It's easy to see similarities - doesn't mean they were as good as Hawaii 5 O was in it's day. "Book'em Danny!" I haven't seen any reruns on TV to this point - thanks for the memories on this site !!! Stephanie Leach Calgary Alberta :-)

Aloha Hawaii-Five-0 fans.... I have had the privilege of visiting the Beautiful Island of Hawaii twice and it truly is paradise on Earth. It was because of the Five-0 series, that I longed to see the locations for myself. I would like to express my gratitude to Jack Lord, fellow cast members and all the staff writers, directors and producers, who made this series possible. Even though Jack Lord has left us his legacy will live on for ever in his beloved Hawaii. I can relate to this series, because I am a retired Police Officer here in Canada. I have only one more wish in life and that is to visit Paradise (Hawaii) one more time before I die. I was very fortunate during a visit to Hawaii in the fall of 1973, at the time they were filming an episode of Hawaii Five-0 down the street from my Hotel the Outrigger on the Beach. The people of Hawaii have a right to be proud of their heritage, language and music. To all of you Mahalo.... Aloha for now, until I return to Hawaii someday.
